According to the military media wing, General Bajwa will meet British military and civilian leadership to discuss bilateral professional matters during his visit. The talks related to forging mutual cooperation between two sides are also expected to take place.
On October 2, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa arrived in Jordan for a three days visit and called on His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussain.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), regional security situation and bilateral cooperation were discussed.
King Abdullah expressed earnest desire to enhance cooperation between the two countries in multiple fields including security, defence production, education and investment opportunities.
Gen Bajwa assured him that Pakistan has the highest regard for Jordan and would welcome any positive initiatives.
King Abdullah awarded the ‘Order of the Military Merit’ to Gen Bajwa in recognition of his services for improving defence and security relations between the two brotherly countries.
General Bajwa’s visit of China
Earlier in September, Gen Bajwa met several military and civil leaders during the three-day official visit to China. He called on Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) General Zhang Youxia.
During the meeting, Gen Zhang Youxia said that China greatly values its time tested relations with Pakistan and its Army. He said that China looks forward to further expanding this cooperation.
He said that development of CPEC is aimed at bringing more benefits and prosperity to the people of both the countries.
The Vice Chairman termed Pak-China military cooperation as an important pillar of bilateral relations. He said that the two militaries should further strengthen this cooperation to safeguard common security challenges.
The generals also discussed areas of further bilateral military cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism, arms and equipment technology and training.
