Known as quite a family man, the epitome of versatility, who is often seen celebrating occasions with his family, Hrithik Roshan has today taken to Instagram to post a heartwarming photo with his father, the veteran actor, Rakesh Roshan.

The son has posted a post-workout photo with his father standing right beside him in a gym, flaunting his muscles. In the post, Hrithik reveals that his father had been diagnosed with early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago and is about to have surgery for this disease today.

The Kaho Na Pyar Hai protagonist writes a heartfelt note as a caption for the photo that goes like, “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldn’t miss gym on surgery day.” He asserts that his father is unarguably the strongest man he knows.

“Got diagnosed with early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it,” he adds. The Zindagi Na Milegi Dubara sensation then expresses his gratitude for being a part of such a family that has Rakesh as its leader. He ends the note by telling his father that he loves him.

Rakesh started off as an actor in 1970 from the movie Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani, followed by a few flamboyant flicks like Kboobsurat, Buniyaad, Bhagwan Dada and Kaamchor amongst others.

The 69-year-old actor then emerged as a film director and helmed movies such as Karan Arjun, Koyla, King Uncle and Khoon Bhari Maang.

Rakesh gave a chance to his son, Hritik from Kaho Na Pyar Hai in 2000. Moreover, the duo collaborated in Krrish and Koi Mil Gaya franchises. The last movie he produced was Kaabil, however, his next movie, the fourth installment of Krrish also includes his son.

We wish Rakesh Roshan a speedy recovery and a life filled with a plethora of love and contentment galore. More power to you!
